Advent 2009 | A&B Catholic Youth Service

[vision | december fourth]

CONNECT. . .

This is today's Gospel reading...

'And as Jesus passed on from there, two blind men followed him, crying out, "Son of David, have pity on us!" When he entered the house, the blind men approached him and Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I can do this?" "Yes, Lord," they said to him. Then he touched their eyes and said, "Let it be done for you according to your faith." And their eyes were opened. Jesus warned them sternly, "See that no one knows about this." But they went out and spread word of him through all that land.' [Matthew 9:27-31]

REFLECT. . .

When we understand our faith and and when we understand ourselves better, it's a bit like having our sight restored. All of a sudden we can see things clearly... Things that might not have made that much sense to us before all of a sudden get a lot simpler.

As we prepare for Christmas, Advent is a time to sort out the things that confuse us and don't make much sense to us.

Why not try this Advent to take a bit of time each day to refect and to think? Why not take a bit of time to learn a little bit about your faith?

The more we know, the more our eyes will be opened.

The more we know, the better prepared we'll be for Christmas...

PRAY. . .

Loving Father,

You open the eyes of the blind and the ears of the deaf. You open the hearts of those who are far from you.

Help me this Advent to learn more about myself and more about you.

Open my eyes to see the beauty!

Amen.
